A digital potentiometer is a device identical to a potentiometer, except that instead of a physical rotating part that adjusts the resistance, it uses digital communication. Namely, the resistance of the digital potentiometer is adjusted via I2C communication.

Our module is based on the MCP4018 IC which has a total of 128 steps between 0 and 5k resistance values. This would mean that it is capable of doing resistance steps of approximately 39ohms. It is controlled via I2C which makes it extremely easy to use.

The USB Type-C is ubiquitous. We always wanted to add it to our electronics projects, and we’re sure you did too. Adding a USB Type-C connector to your projects is easier than ever thanks to this USB Type-C breakout board. It will allow you to send data to your device, as well as add power to the circuit.

 

The USB Type-C connector’s GND, CC2, SBU2, D-, D+, SBU1, CC1, and VUSB pins are broken out to the plated through-holes.

Male headers that are included need to be soldered to the board. The breakout board has two mounting holes and can be placed on any surface.

The pins included need to be soldered to the board. It won’t move an inch when mounted with the two mounting holes.

The DRV8825, located on this board, enables microstepping of a bipolar motor with an adjustable current limit, overcurrent and overtemperature protection. Controls steps up to 1/32 step. The electromagnetic padlock allows the door to be locked via a microcontroller or other external system.
