Product Description

Photointerrupter is a device that has the ability to detect when an object appears between its IR diode and phototransistor. IR diode continually emits light, whereas on the other side a phototransistor (calibrated only to the light of that diode) receives light. When you put an object between them, the phototransistor detects and sends a digital signal. It is handy as a position sensor or for counting repeating operations (e.g. speed counting).
