A USB-C charger or port switches VUSB on only when it sees a \u003cstrong\u003e5.1 kΩ\u003c\/strong\u003e resistor from CC1 to GND, so you add that resistor yourself or connect a USB PD controller to CC1.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTwo 5-pin \u003cstrong\u003e2.54 mm\u003c\/strong\u003e male headers ship unsoldered. Solder them on for a breadboard, or wire straight to the pads. Two 3.2 mm mounting holes let you screw the board down.
